Welcome

Rule of thumb, anybody can post here, but not every post gets to stay.  If your intent is posting about alternative treatments for MRSA, you will be vetted. So if you want to sell something be prepared or mosey on to another site.

As a MRSA victim there is an imperative, knowledge. That knowledge is called a culture interpretation. It is a waste of time to discuss your situation without it. This is one of the biggest contributors to the misunderstandings about MRSA. See a Doctor, have the results of your culture explained to you. In the event you do not recover, by all means feel free to come and learn from the experience of others. In doing so, we will learn from you.

SouthFLgirl. The difference is a certain DNA string not found in HA. In the future you may be given an ineffective antibiotic because it will be assumed it is CA. Also there is reason to expect the Hospital to assume responsibilty for your MRSA treatments.

Michael I know what you feel like..I also have MRSA and dealt with worker compensations a longtime..I didn't have the companion to lose but I have lost the family because they do not understand this nor do they want to deal with it..Was you given cultures to determine what kind of MRSA you have? And what type of antibiotic will treat it? That is where they missed up with me..I still have never actually seen a culture that they did..But was treated with many things and developed many allergies along the way. You sure are not alone in your fight with MRSA. It is Nice to meet You..Feel Free to ask me questions if you would like to. Blessings be with you..!!I sure hope they get you a higher rating than that.

My name is Michael i am from missouri, I first contraced MRSA in 2007 from a patient at my work, I work in the medical field an dhave for 22 years. Back too my contacting MRSA i was splattered with urine by a person who is a chronic MRSA carrier, I did not know this person had this MRSA, Well with in a few days i developed a sun burn like rash on my stomach and then is started draining geenish yellow like stuff from it! I went too a doctor and was told i had MRSA and was started on bactrim and cleocin and injections into my stomach x2 weeks, I have been on workcomp for 2.5 years now and still see the doctor monthly! I got a 4% total whole body rating from the workcomps doctor, which i feel is very crappy on there part, But my attorney is sending me too a doctor in a few months too get a higher rating for life. This is a awful thing too have and too go through, i lost my companion due too having this MRSA. But i am glad others have what i have and they can relate too me and my health issues,My family does not relate they just seem too not get close too me anymore since 2007.

What would you think of a Dermatologist whose patient comes in with a spider bite and in a nursing home for rehab diagnosises CA-MRSA?

For anyone who is needing drugs from SmithKleinFrench, they have a patient assistance program that covers their drugs if you are on Medicare Part D and also match the requirements for their program. Just go to their site and they will help. I have not been able to get my Zofran for nausea under the Part D as Zofran is only for chemo or post-op patients (that is how it was developed and approved for) BUT if you have Part D, it doesn't matter what rule there is in the prescribing information. It can be given because SKF will authorize their meds to be covered AT NO COST without having to meet the prescribing info! How awesome is that? Check all your drugs and needs through what is called BenefitsCheckup. I don't have the direct site info but just google BenefitsCheckup (no space!) and you will find the place to see what all you can qualify for! Best wishes and blessings to all of you...

AT LAST ... someone from Texas??? I am from Texas and have HA-MRSA which is constantly rearing its ugly head on my skin and in my blood. My docs and the hospital are getting tired of seeing me. My strength level is zilch. I keep losing weight. And the hospital treatment sucks ditch water! No wonder there are so many of us infected and so many deaths. I bet there have been deaths at the hospital that I frequent. I am perm. disabled with COPD and heart problems (have an AICD- combo pacemaker and defibrillator), plus chronic migraines, chronic body pain, CFS, overall chronic pain esp in my back and hips.... and some other minor things. But the worst of all that bothers me is the MRSA! I never know if it will become the final attack. Hate living in fear, but that's kind of the way this disease works on us. So where in Texas are you? I used to live in Houston and of all the hospitalizations throughout the years, never had a problem till I moved here to the Valley. Well, I need to check out other posts... need info, direction, support, etc. Hope to hear back from you!
